Active Isolated Stretching
Active Isolated Stretching (AIS, the Mattes Method) is an enhancement of traditional methods of stretching that combines active movement and breathing to stretch specific muscles.
AIS benefits the body in numerous ways. Specifically, AIS helps the body’s lymphatic system to flush metabolic waste products, to increase circulation or oxygenated blood flow and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia. For our clients, this can be particularly helpful in improving range of motion (ROM), reducing risk of injury, and improving body alignment.
